CGI
- Each Server comes with
it's own unique cgi-bin directory. In
fact, since you have complete access to your
Virtual Server configuration files, you can
create any number of cgi-bin directories on
your Virtual Server. You may install
any CGI script or program on your Virtual
Server that you please. iServer has
several scripts in its CGI Library and Contrib
Library that you
may find useful.
Perl-
Your Virtual Servers come
with Perl version 5 pre-installed. The latest
release of Perl version 5 is also available. The
Servers also come with TCL/Tk, csh, sh, and other
popular UNIX scripting languages.
Java
and Java Scripts -
Because Java applets are platform-independent,
the iServer Virtual Server System is quite capable
of supporting pre-compiled Java classes. iServer
also provides its clients with a Java Bytecode
Compiler, a Java Virtual Machine (Interpreter)
and "Just-In-Time" Compiler, as well as toba -
a Java Native or "Way Ahead of Time" Compiler.
A compilation of some classic and useful
Java applets is available in the iServer Java
Applet Library. Some very useful scripts
are also catalogued in the iServer JavaScript
Library.

PHP4.0
- PHP/FI, which is in acronym
for "Personal Home Page/Form Interpreter", is
a popular free-ware web applications development
tool. The "form interpreter", or preprocessor,
and PHP/FI's server-side scripting language allows
one to write simple scripts and include them directly
in HTML files (HTML-embedded). By including
support for various databases, it also makes it
trivial to develop database enabled web pages.
Many people find the embedded nature much easier
to deal with than trying to create separate HTML
and CGI files. For more information about
its supported features, see:

MySQL
Database - is a lightweight
database engine created to allow fast support and
access of stored data without requiring large amounts
of memory. This database engine provides a
powerful capability for accessing databases within
the Virtual Server environment.
The
MySQL package includes the powerful database engine,
a terminal "monitor" program, a database admin program,
a schema viewer, and a C language API. The
API and the database engine have both been designed
to work in a client/server environment over a TCP/IP
network. This makes MySQL the ideal database for
operating within your Virtual Server.

Environment
Administration
SMTP
- Virtual SMTP Service also
allows you to alias e-mail addresses. E-mail
aliasing allows your company to have e-mail addresses
linked to your own domain. Your address might
be "sales@yourcompany.com" and not an extension
of your local access providers name. The
Virtual SMTP Service forwards your incoming mail
to your e-mail account with your local access
provider or an existing POP account on your Virtual
Server.

POP
- The Virtual POP service allows
your company to establish an Internet mail system
at a very low cost saving your company money on
a connection to the Internet. With your Virtual
POP Service you can establish as many e-mail accounts
for your business as you choose. Unlike e-mail
aliasing, with the POP service your mail is stored
on your Virtual Server. You can then very
easily configure your POP client (Eudora, Pegasus,
etc.) to dial in through your local access provider
and read your mail.
FormMail
- This popular script (from
Matt's Script Archive) is an easy way to handle form
content and have it mailed to some specified address.
The form can also be modified to send an automated
response back to the remote client.
Majordomo
- Majordomo is a set of perl programs
written to handle routine administration of Internet
mailing lists. Documentation is included.
Pretty
Good Privacy (PGP)
- PGP(tm) uses public-key
encryption to protect E-mail and data files. PGP
is well featured and fast, with sophisticated key
management, digital signatures, data compression,
and good ergonomic design.
PGP
Formmail
- This script is an easy
way to handle form content and have it mailed to some
specified address encrypted with your PGP(tm) public
key. The form can also be modified to send an
automated response back to the remote client.
WWW
Board 2.0 - WWW
Board is a web bulletin board message system. The
script provides some administrative utilities to manage
the bulletin board.
